narcoticfairy:

Lately I’ve been missing 70s vibe a bit, so after all those years I finally got my hands on “Stairway to Heaven” by Richard Cole. Yes, I was fully aware that the guy’s a moron, but his disrespect of groupiedom is outstanding. He happenes to remember hair color and names of some one night stand groupies, but completely blanks presence of Michele Overman and Morgana Welch in band’s life; Charlotte Martin is described as a ruthless bitch; miss Pamela gets only one mention in the context of Jimmy’s bdsm tendencies; and I refuse to comment on his paragraph about The Plaster Casters since it was pure outrage. No wonder the image of groupiedom is so wicked in modern society when nutjobs like Cole are allowed to write the history.

“When part-time Stones member Ron Wood brought his foxy blonde wife, Chrissie, down to Page’s Plumpton Place for a visit, the guitarist reportedly disappeared with her for several days…Ron Wood took it in his stride — on the phone one day he asked Jimmy, ‘How’s our bird?’ Page later installed Chrissie Wood at the…Tower House…Page eventually reunited with Charlotte [Martin].”
